Introducing MARCWizard™ for Alexandria!

Bring the power of Mitinet’s industry-leading MARC metadata tools directly into Alexandria. MARCWizard helps you analyze, enhance, catalog, and maintain your MARC records without leaving your circulation system. Keep your catalog current with richer metadata, improved discoverability, and more accurate records, helping students and patrons find the resources they need faster.

This feature will be available to those of you registered for BestMARC Global through Alexandria. Simply navigate to Tools > MARCWizard to access powerful BestMARC features and seamlessly exchange records between Mitinet and Alexandria.

Import Patron Payments

It’s finally here—the new Import Patron Payments lets you import payments from other systems into Alexandria. This is designed to easily work with InTouch. To set up exports and imports for other systems, please check the requirements carefully for what data to include.

Export Patron Fines has been updated and added to Textbook Tracker, so you can share fines between systems.

Interlibrary Loan Report

There is a new report for Interlibrary Loan Statistics that shows the number of loans sent, received, requested, and fulfilled across your district, so you can track participation.

Important

Microsoft will soon no longer support a basic SMTP username/password setup for emails. We have a new OAuth option in Preferences > Setup > Email that lets you link your Microsoft account, and will route emails through Microsoft Entra.

Please change your configuration as soon as possible (before Microsoft ends support) to ensure no interruption in Alexandria emails to patrons.

Operations

  • Single labels printed from Circulation now include the site name.

Fixed

SIS Integration

  • We were getting old homerooms from ClassLink; Alexandria now ignores ‘tobedeleted’ homerooms and gets the first one after that.

Inventory

  • The Copy Location dropdown in Inventory is no longer limited to 100 menu items.

Circulation

  • There was a remaining issue with overdue temporary items that made it difficult to see what the temporary item was. Now it’s better!

Self-Service

  • Oops, the I’m Done button was disabled until anything had been scanned. That made it hard to go back if you pick the wrong mode. So we’ve fixed that.

Search

  • Some discarded items were showing in the OPAC that they were ‘available’ when another site did have an available copy. These now show correctly as ‘offsite’.
  • Some accented characters weren’t displaying properly in Researcher. These areas (publication, Lexile, extent, and citation) have been fixed.
