Highlights

The new interfaces for Search, Explore, and Browse are now live! No more beta!

We’ve made a ton of improvements for the release. You might notice…

  • Mobile—that’s right, Search can be used on your phone! (We won’t redirect to Scout anymore.)
  • Widget—the Search Widget now goes to the new Search.
  • Full Details—an item’s details now shows Edition and LCCN, as well as Bibliography, Curriculum, and Interest terms.
    • You can turn on/off the link to Goodreads in your Builder preferences.
  • Shelf View—scroll sideways with a trackpad or mobile device, or use the little arrows to browse the shelves.
  • Ebooks—open ebook links from the visible link, as well as the ebook vendor icon. Overdrive now shows Sora/Libby based on your setup.
  • Accessibility—if you use a screen reader, you might actually be able to find a book :wink:
  • Medium aliases—filters and Browse by Medium use the Aliases that you can add in Authority Control.
  • Study Programs—filter and Browse by Study Programs.
  • And more!

Reviews Management

Reviews joins the Makeover family! Updated code, easy same-tab access from Builder, a clearer design, and a shortcut to Search.

Super Summary by Call Number

The Super Summary by Call Number report now has an option for you to ungroup the Other category of call numbers. This means you can get super statistics on call number prefix groups like DVD or anything outside the regular prefixes used by the report. Go to the Options tab to turn off “Group Other Prefixes”.

Operations

  • Utilities joins the Makeover family! The beta is available to try when you access utilities from Operations.

Services

  • TeachingBooks information in Alexandria now includes series, and the number of audio and video resources

Fixed

Circulation

  • Security setting for Patrons or Library Items to View or Manage Notes can now properly see and add/edit notes in Circulation > Action Menu > Notes.

Patrons

  • The Change Patron Grade utility now lets you select by Grade 0, if you have such a grade in your grade table.

Textbooks

  • Copy filtering in Textbook copies has been improved.

Exports

  • When exporting Titles or Copies, you’ll now be able to get the patron’s name (who has the item checked out).

Utilities

  • Change Patron Location (Homeroom) utility summary file is showing more accurate results.

Preferences

  • A currency implied decimal setting of 4 was making it difficult to process charge windows and edit copies (for purchase/replacement cost). This is working much better now!

Builder

  • Bulletin Board Order wasn’t always being respected. It’s been reordered!
