Are you utilizing keyboard shortcuts?

Keyboard shortcuts can make your life so much easier, but they can be hard to remember. Did you know that in Circulation, there is a new special shortcut that opens up a list of Alexandria hotkeys? Just enter *? into Circulation, and the window will pop up.

Let’s go over a few other scenarios where some of our favorite shortcuts come in handy.

1. Miss Honey needs to run some reports in Alexandria, but she also needs to keep the circulation window open to assist patrons. Operations defaults to opening in the same tab, but did you know there is a keyboard shortcut to open reports in a new tab?
   • To open reports in a new tab on Mac, it’s command-click, and to open in a new tab on Windows, it’s Ctrl-click.
2. Miss Honey is looking up records in Items Management, and wants to scroll through the results list, but the curser is in the records field.
   • The CMD/CTRL + [ and CMD/CTRL + ] shortcuts move up and down the record list.
