Goals
Goals is an optional add-on; contact us to learn more.

Goals is a new module for librarians to define reading goals that students can sign up to.
To access it directly, add /goals to the end of your Alexandria URL.
Table of Contents
Create custom goals to encourage students to read (for example) 10 approved books over the summer, or maybe 50 books the entire school year! Students can see their goals and sign up in Patron Status. When a goal is complete, students can earn rewards (gems and badges). Set up a Goals Progress Notice for students and parents to track the progress.

Goals are Site-based. To create a global goal (that shows to all patrons at all sites), create the goal on the union site.
Settings
Set the specifications for your goals.

Select badge style from the choices above.
- Goal Name. What is this goal called?
- Description. Add a brief description of the goal. This also shows in Patron Status.
- Notes. Add any notes related to this goal. Notes are for Librarians only.
- Timeline. What is the timeframe that patrons have to complete this goal?
- Requirements. Set specifics for number of books, as well as what saved list, if any, the books need to be from to count towards the goal. If reviews are required, they must be approved by the librarian in order for the book to count towards the goal.
- Rewards. Set the badge style (stay tuned for more design and custom badge options in the future!) and amount of gems patrons earn for completing this goal.
Participants
Items count towards goals when they are checked in by a patron signed up for the goal, and can count towards multiple goals.
Add Patrons, keep track of progress and goal completion. You can also manually Remove patrons and Complete goals for selected patrons.
You can also send out Goals Progress Notice to patrons to update them on their progress.

Patrons can see their progress and sign up for new goals in patron status in Researcher.
