Highlights

Scout has a cuteness upgrade! Classic and Seafoam styles in Scout now have fun images to engage patrons. And us.

Have your teachers created reading lists they want to share with their students? Do some of your patrons like putting together fun lists that they want to share with other patrons? Now, you can make any of your saved lists ‘Searchable’, which means other people can view them by going to Browse > Saved Lists. Teach your patrons to help each other by creating themed lists!

Authority Control joins the rest of the Makeover with a spiffy new interface. It will now open in the same tab from Tools.

New and Improved

Items

  • We’ve made the Summary field (and other Items > Notes) easier to edit! Instead of scrunched up on one line you can now see the full note.
  • We’ve had a number of users let us know how much they liked how the old Alexandria Items (legacy) would magically resize cover art when it was too large. Good news, the new Makeover Items now does it too, but better!!! Now you don’t have to use the basic image tools on your computer—Alexandria will resize item cover art for you.

Patrons

  • You can run an advanced search in Patrons Management to find patrons by Sex.

Search

  • When you or a student clicks on a TeachingBooks resource from Alexandria, they will be authenticated into the site account.

Textbook Tracker

  • The following Textbook Tracker reports now include the Copy Tag: Loaned Textbook Information, Copies Inventoried, Copies Not Inventoried.

Fixed

  • Some 3rd-party services may be temporarily unavailable during February 3-7 as we update security with our vendors.

Items

  • We’ve made improvements when switching between Circulation and Items Management (where sometimes Items wasn’t pulling up the item you had current); we also recommend clearing your cache.
  • Alexandria tries to be helpful and add 10-digit isbns when you enter a 13-digit isbn in Items Management. Whelp, there’s a new ISBN prefix 979 which are ALL 13 digits and do not have a 10 digit equivalent. So from now on, Alexandria won’t try to add 10-digit versions of those isbns!
  • Copy Locations with parenthesis weren’t getting found. Now you can conduct an advanced search and find those Copy Locations!

Patrons

  • When adding a new patron, you’ll now get an indicator that the barcode is automatically assigned if left blank.
  • Advanced Search in Patrons 2nd Location dropdown now shows the correct 2nd location terms.

Operations

Scheduling an operation requires a frequency and date/time selection; be sure your schedules are set appropriately.

Builder

  • Legacy Browse and Explore Style options have been removed.

Search

  • When refreshing Search, the top and bottom explore panes were getting mixed up. Now when you refresh, it ignores the explore pane GUID in the URL so you end up with the correct top and bottom panes.
  • Pop! Bubbles in Scout are moving again!
  • Printing in Search now shows more accurate item availability.

Textbook Tracker

  • In Textbook Tracker, Copy Tag now shows when you print your Copy List.
