Custom Researcher Styles

Have you been longing and yearning to make Researcher match your school colors? Introducing a Custom Style, where you get to pick your own color combinations! Available for Researcher Hub and Search/Browse/Explore. Learn more about how it works in Builder.

ClassLink SIS+SSO

Alexandria now integrates with ClassLink for rostering (SIS) and SSO! Talk to your account representative for your options on turning on this feature.

Holds by Site Set

We’ve made some improvements to holds in a central union.

First, when placing holds, patrons and librarians will now have the option to place a hold on copies in the defined (searching) Site Set. When patrons/librarians try to place a hold on copies at the patron’s site only, and there are no copies, they get the option to place the hold in the site set (or all sites) instead. (If ILL are enabled.)

We have 2 new preferences relating to the holds dialogs!

  1. In Preferences > Circulation > User Interaction lets you turn on the hold dialog when placing holds in Circulation. Usually hold commands in Circulation bypass the dialog and place a hold on ‘any site’. Turn this on to have more control over the site or sites.
  2. In Preferences > Circulation > Circulation Rules we’ve added a new option to turn on the pickup site selection. Important! If you are currently letting your patrons set a pickup site, you’ll need to go and turn ON this preference!

New and Improved

Circulation

  • Generate Alexandria barcode labels one label at a time! Now you can print labels from a single-label printer, like a small thermal printer.

Services

  • You can now send your Alexandria collection data directly to Perma-Bound for analysis! Go to Services > Perma-Bound to link your accounts.

Search

  • For those of you who keep individual copy call numbers, we have a new setting! Look under Preferences > Items > Call Number pref for “Preserve copy call number when title changes.”

Fixed

Security

  • We’ve addressed browser errors relating to About Alexandria permissions.

Exports

  • The Export Patron Fines export didn’t want to include all fines or show titles consistently. We’ve addressed these issues.

Search

  • Advanced Search with accession date has been reformatted so the search strings return the expected results.
  • Search was claiming titles AVAILABLE…for copies that were actually on-shelf holds. (Or in-transit holds.). These now show as unavailable. In certain cases, titles will now show OFFSITE if there is no copy at the site you are searching but there is elsewhere.
